GET READY FOR SUMMER!
May is here and the warmer weather has us New Yorkers thinking about summer plans and perhaps a summer rental too. If you're interested in renting, there is still time. Reach out to us and we'll put you in touch with the perfect broker to suit your needs and help you navigate each market. Below you will find a handful of summer rental destinations we recommend:
Hamptons & the North Fork, LI: Compass’ market intelligence team is finding rental pricing is trending around 10% higher than last year with rental activity spiking around 25% in the last few weeks. If you are on a budget you can also check out Hampton Bays, Shelter Island, or the North Fork. Starting at ~ $50,000/month & go way up from there. Jersey Shore: Similar to the Hamptons, the frenzy is over but inventory is still pretty tight. Some brokers indicate up to 90% of homes are already rented. Starting at ~ $20,000/month & go up from there. Litchfield & Greenwich, CT: If you are willing to forgo the ocean, head to Connecticut. While CT was flooded with new residents during COVID, there is still availability for summer getaways and even some bargains in Litchfield County. You may find something in Greenwich but be prepared to pay. Starting ~ $25,000/month and go up from there. BOTTOM LINE: Secure your summer rental ASAP and be prepared for 0% negotiability and premium pricing.
