With fifty percent of NYC adults at least partially vaccinated, and the city’s impending reopening on July 1st, companies are beginning to plan their way back into the office. The city's energy is clearly returning and this is already having a positive impact on the the luxury real estate market, which is supported by the latest in-contract data. Two weeks ago, 56 contracts of were signed, continuing a record-breaking 12 weeks of 30+ contracts signed in this luxury sector. The weekly average during the last peak years of 2016 and 2017 was 21 and 23, respectively. Last week marked the 4th week straight of 40 or more contracts signed at $4 million + This is an unprecedented number since being tracked beginning 2006!
In short, the city's recovery is in full swing and the bottom of the market is behind us.
